Description:
TEKsystems client in Surrey is adding 2 contract Mortgage Underwriters to their team.
This remote role is best suited to someone with 4+ years of lending experience and good knowledge of all aspects of Retail Lending, i.e., specialty lending
(equity/alternate life), and progressive lending.
Responsibilities:
- Review internal applications for mobile mortgage specialists.
- Communicate with and support external brokers
- Assess the reliability of the information provided in support of the application
- Detect fraud or illegal activity whether it pertains to the income, documentation, or collateral
- Conduct compliance checks to ensure all applications align with regulatory standards.




- Navigate between multiple systems depending on the deal numbers
- Communicate effectively with external brokers.
- Review 10-20 applications per week.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
- A minimum of 4 years of lending experience, with good knowledge of all aspects of Retail Lending i.e. specialty lending (equity/alternate life), progressive lending
- A comprehensive understanding of the residential underwriting process and how to underwrite with and without an automated decision system.
- In-depth knowledge review of T1 Generals, Notice of Assessments, pay stubs, and all other income-type documentation
- In-depth knowledge review of appraisals
- Exposure to Mobile Mortgage Specialists and External Broker applications is required
- Strong English communication skills, with internal and external stakeholders.
Nice to Have Experience:
- Experience working with Link Lender is an asset
- Software experience with T2$, or Solidify

The pay range for this position is $33.33 - $35.89
