About this opportunity:
Reporting to the Manager, Lloyd Complex Development, and working with an integrated team, the Senior Development Engineer is responsible for integrating data across various functions in the Conventional Heavy Oil space to maintain high-quality asset development plans that enable Cenovus to operate an efficient business. The successful candidate will help build and analyze development plans and use those plans to optimize and maintain cases for oil sands projects.
What you’ll do:
- Collaborate with production, operations,
process & forecasting teams to integrate data and assemble robust business cases for decision makers; and maintain high-quality, predictive, development plan models for strategy, budget, and five-year planning purposes
- Implement Enersight modelling improvements for Operating Expense, Facility and Execution constraints
- Conduct a Monthly Production Review that coordinates multi-team workflow, integrates function changes before the review, highlights change impacts, communicates production timing results, and summarizes outcomes for ULT reporting
- Support the Economics Decision team in the development and upkeep of project-specific economic models throughout the full investment life-cycle
- Help in preparing decision support documents and presentations for a broad range of audiences ranging from individual contributors up to the C-Suite
- Stewarding sustaining projects through capital governance and stage gate approval processes
- Manage asset and project capital within the budget and business plan by collaborating with Project Managers to ensure alignment with project and budget approvals
- Provide monthly capital forecasts,
incorporating guidance from upstream planning and project integration to explain drivers of capital variance
Who you are:
Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum requirements:
- Legally authorized to work in Canada
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from a recognized institution and, registered and in good standing, with APEGA or APEGS
- A minimum of 8+ years of Engineering or Geosciences experience in the Oil & Gas Industry
- Validated experience in Development, Reservoir, Production, Process Engineering and Project planning & economics
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, environment where priorities change frequently
- Ability to facilitate and manage meetings with diverse opinions
