Tourmaline Oil Corp. is a Canadian senior crude oil and natural gas exploration and production company. We are focused on long-term growth through an aggressive exploration, development, production and acquisition program in the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin.The purpose of this role is the ongoing management of the company’s Emergency Management Program (EMP). This role will focus on the emergency management aspects of the corporate HSE program and encompasses the company’s field assets & operations in BC, AB, & SK. The position provides an assurance role that the company’s EMP is right-sized and appropriate for its operations, aligned with corporate goals,
and compliant with applicable provincial and federal regulations.Reporting to the Manager, HSER, the EMP’s will be responsible but not limited to:Key ResponsibilitiesManage development, maintenance, & distribution all provincially regulated Emergency Response Plans (ERP) throughout the organization, including corporate, site-specific, & D&C; plans.Manage development, maintenance, & distribution all federally regulated ERPs, including but not limited to the company’s CEPA-E2 regulated facilities.Develop & maintain Dam Safety Plans in AB & BC.Organize & facilitate exercises to meet regulatory & company requirements.Develop & deliver Emergency Management training to company staff.Maintain Emergency Management related software & related systems.Maintain after-hours emergency call centre call-down procedures.Support field HSER team members in the development of site-specific fire & safety plans for field offices & company-operated work camps.Support Exploitation & Development teams as a subject-matter expert on Emergency Management as it pertains to asset licensing, construction,
& operations.Maintain company’s TDG Environmental Response Assistance Plan (ERAP).Maintain company’s inventory registered sites within Transport Canada’s CID system.Maintain company’s product classification inventory for controlled products.Maintain corporate Safety Data Sheet (SDS) system.Organize floor fire warden assignments & fire warden training in the Calgary office.Represent company’s interests at industry organizations (CAPP, EPAC, etc.) on matters related to Emergency Management.Monitor pending regulatory changes & emerging issues & advise management as to potential impact to company operations.Support corporate Business Continuity Plan (BCP) as needed.Support company’s field operations on Emergency Management related matters as required.Support company’s HSE programs & initiatives as required.Assist other aspects of the HSE program as required & directed by the HSER Manager.QualificationsMinimum ten (10) years of experience in oil & gas industryMinimum five (5) years of experience in an HSE role.Minimum of 3 years of experience in directly managing a corporate Emergency Management program.Working knowledge of oil & gas field operations & equipment.Post-secondary education related to Emergency Management, Health & Safety, or Environmental Sciences is an asset.Working knowledge of provincial & federal regulations related to emergency management.Demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure during emergency situations.Ability to work effectively & collaboratively in a team environment.Ability to devote time in the field, when required.Ability to provide on-call support, when required.Strong presentation & communication skills.Strong computer & data management skills.Valid Class 5 Driver’s License is required.
