Azure Solution Architect Client: Residential ServicesRole: Azure Solution ArchitectDuration: 6 months plus very likely extension.Location: Surrey, BC – Remote (on-site once a month in Surrey) Our client, a recognized residential services provider is looking to hire an Azure Solution Architect for a 6-month contract. Your New Role1. Technical Guidance and Support:• Provide technical leadership and guidance regarding development, deployment, and maintenance phases• Facilitate, lead and guide technical discussions ensuring minimal disruption to business operations• Develop best practices and support requirements for Azure solutions and support • Offer support for cloud development teams and resolve infrastructure/application issues2.
Review and create As-Is On-prem Architecture information• Review and understand the current on-prem data centre and disaster recovery footprint• Facilitate the creation of as-is information for applications and related infrastructure• Gather and analyze business and technical requirements to design scalable and effective solutions.• Analyze existing systems and infrastructure to propose improvements.3. Design and Implement Cloud Architectures:• Design, and develop, scalable, secure, reliable and cost-effective cloud solutions compatible with Azure cloud that meet business requirements• Analyze target Azure infrastructure and propose improvements4. Translate Functional Requirements:• Convert functional requirements into technical specifications and cloud solutions.• Ensure solutions align with business goals and compliance requirements.5. Collaboration and Communication:• Work closely with stakeholders, including developers, administrators, Program managers,
and the project team to ensure successful migration• Communicate effectively about the cloud architecture and its implications.6. Stay Updated:• Keep abreast of the latest developments in cloud computing and the Azure platform and assist with applying them with the team• Implement best practices for security and compliance.What You’ll Need to Succeed:Ideal Candidate Must-have:• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or Computer Engineering.• Microsoft Azure certifications (e.g., Azure Developer Associate, Azure Solutions Architect Expert) required.• Extensive experience with Azure services such as Azure Container Apps, Azure Functions, Azure Service Bus, Azure SQL Database, Azure Storage, and Azure Networking particularly within public sector environments.• Experience and knowledge with Oracle and Linux stack and migration are a plus. • Experience with Azure DevOps, ARM templates,
and Bicep is a plus.• Hands-on experience working with Azure services and deploying applications to Azure. Experience with Databricks, and Microsoft Fabric are a plus.• Excellent problem-solving, critical-thinking, and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.• Familiarity with hybrid cloud environments• Continuous Improvement: you love to make things better, whether it is a technical problem, improving a business process or workflow within the team.• Collaborative Communication: you are collaborative, you like people as much as you like technology, you work well with others and communicate effectively.• Technical Knowledge: You possess strong technology strategy, networking, infrastructure, security, and development skills.• Develop, Configure,
deploy/roll out, maintain, support solutions, and diagnose technical issues. (i.e. SaaS, PaaS, IaaS) – Cloud and/or On-Premise.• Expert understanding and knowledge of various enterprise architecture methodologies (e.g., Zachman, TOGAF, SAFe, etc. and ability to adapt and develop hybrid applications of methodologies to meet needs.Preference will be given to candidates with the following:• Azure certification & 5+ years of experience implementing Azure resources.• Experience working in the public sector
