We are currently partnered with a highly reputable and quickly growing integrated project and engineering equipment fabricator in Calgary, seeking a Senior Process Engineer. The Senior Process Engineer is responsible for process design, optimization, equipment selection, and sizing, including generating PFDs, HMBs, P&IDs;, and sizing control valves, PSVs, and flare systems. This role involves creating process control documents, collaborating with cross-functional teams and vendors, and ensuring effective execution of technical requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process Engineering : Lead process design and engineering for facility projects, develop process flow diagrams, heat/material balances, P&IDs;, and process simulations.
Sizing of major equipment, control valves, PSVs, and flare systems, as well as developing control narratives and shutdown keys. Participate in reviews to ensure process requirements are met and ensure compliance with codes, standards, and regulations.
- Facilities System Integration : Collaborate with teams to integrate BOP systems with plant design, perform system analysis to optimize operations and enhance reliability.
- Technical Excellence : Troubleshoot process issues, monitor performance, and optimize processes. Provide technical guidance, review deliverables for quality and compliance, mentor junior engineers, and identify opportunities for improvement and innovation.
- Project Collaboration : Work with project managers to define scopes, schedules, and budgets. Monitor progress, address risks, and ensure timely delivery of equipment. Engage with clients, present technical solutions, and maintain relationships to ensure satisfaction.
- Process Compliance & Quality Assurance : Lead HAZOP studies, ensure safety and compliance, and implement quality control procedures.
Review vendor documentation and ensure adherence to codes and standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in gas processing facility design and engineering.
- Strong knowledge of process principles, fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, and industry codes/standards.
- P. Eng. (APEGA) or equivalent.
- Proficiency in process simulation software (e.g., VMG, ProMax).
- Experience with HAZOP, SIL, and regulatory compliance.
- Proven leadership skills and experience in mentoring engineers.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational abilities.
