The Facilities Manager is responsible for ensuring that company facilities are safe, efficient, functional, and inclusive. This role involves overseeing daily operations, maintenance, and management of the facilities, as well as supervising teams and collaborating with internal and external persons of interest to implement best practices in facilities management.

This is a full-time position with a 37.5-hour work week.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

- Provide strategic oversight and leadership to the Supervisor, Facilities Maintenance; Supervisor, Housekeeping; and Security (Contracted Service Provider), ensuring alignment with YW Calgary’s organizational goals
- Develop and implement initiatives to enhance team effectiveness of the maintenance and housekeeping teams fostering a culture of innovation, inclusion and integrity
- Strategic planning and resource allocation, assigning tasks, optimizing scheduling to drive team productivity and high service standards
- Lead talent development and engagement strategies to emphasize a culture of high performance and customer satisfaction
- Partner with program leadership to support Transitional Housing, Shelter Services, Childcare Operations, and Affordable Housing ensuring alignment with organizational priorities to address facility related concerns
- Drive high client satisfaction through effective collaboration with IT, Finance and People Services Departments to implement innovative solutions and maintain operational efficiency




- Proactively address facility related concerns in collaboration with external vendors for specialized maintenance and services
- Strategically plan and oversee the delivery of essential functional services such as signage, cleaning, maintenance, parking, safety inspections, security, and snow removal
- Provide leadership in the management of facilities infrastructures including installation and maintenance of machinery, equipment, electrical, and mechanical systems to optimize building performance
- Minimize downtime and extend the lifecycle of assets through preventative maintenance and building inspections to ensure compliance and risk mitigation on each of YW Calgary’s sites
- Plan and manage the facility’s operations budget ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and cost efficiency
- Support the Supervisor,



Facilities Maintenance with procurement processes and external vendor management to maximize value, services, and cost-effectiveness
- Review vendor contracts, suggest appropriate changes and negotiate terms to manage risk and optimize operational efficiency
- Regularity review building operations and related organizational structure to optimize effectiveness and efficiency, and to ensure continuous improvement
- Manage the preparation and presentation of key metric reports to inform decision making and continuous improvements for senior leadership
- Partner with People Services and Programs to maintain health and safety programs, ensuring compliance with OSHA, local, provincial and federal safety regulations
- Lead building safety protocols, including fire drills, emergency evacuations, and safety equipment use to ensure organizational readiness




- Conduct safety audits, risk assessments, and implement corrective actions to mitigate potential hazards
- Oversee the security systems and manage access to controls to safeguard personnel, assets and privacy

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

- Degree, diploma, or certification in Facilities Management, Engineering, or a related field (equivalent experience considered); certification in Facilities Management (completed or in progress) with IFMA registration will be considered an asset
- Experience in complex facilities management with demonstration of strong team leadership abilities
- Knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing systems, Alberta fire and building codes
- Ability to interpret blueprints and plans
- Experience with Health & Safety, Site Supervision, and OH&S; regulations
- Valid Alberta driver’s license with a clean abstract




- Current CPR and First Aid certification
- Technologically proficient in MS Office/365
- Commitment to and experience with equity, diversity, and inclusion
