POSITION SUMMARY

Risk Management works closely with our business partners as the second line of defense to manage the Bank's risk exposure within our stated Risk Appetite, while allowing the business to achieve its goals. This role will support the measurement and management of credit risk across the enterprise.

MAJOR ELEMENTS OF THE ROLE

Key accountabilities of this position include:

- Enhance credit risk reporting and contribute to credit risk dashboard design, working to increase automation and ensure data accuracy and effective controls.
- Build out credit risk analytics capabilities, with an emphasis on the creation of modular tools that can be leveraged for forward-looking analysis.
- Contribute to design of simulation engine to run portfolio what-ifs and identify key pockets of portfolio risk.
- Proactively work across the organization to understand new lending products, business processes and data sources to ensure the efficacy of the reporting and analytics framework.




- Provides sound portfolio oversight by ensuring that the Bank’s asset quality meets stated objectives and develops Key Risk Indicators which measures that risk profile remains within the Bank’s Risk Appetite.
- Produces and communicates data-driven insights based on changes or trends in the exposure status of the Bank’s credit risks.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Qualifications

- Degree in Quantitative Finance, Data Science, or Statistics.
- 5+ years banking experience, particularly retail credit risk, and real estate-secured lending.
- Advanced Python skills with experience implementing risk models or building analytic frameworks. Stress testing and Monte Carlo simulation experience a plus.
- Python and PowerPoint proficiency in data visualization, chart design and report generation.
- Continuous improvement mindset with strong desire to enhance processes and develop creative solutions.




- Strong ability to identify data anomalies, continually check numbers against golden sources and to self-police for errors.
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform is a plus.
- To collaborate successfully at work, you should have good interpersonal and communication skills to build effective working relationships with your colleagues.
