Position Overview:
The Corporate Actuarial Team in EDC has responsibilities that include the annual actuarial valuation; insurance financial statements, corporate plan, and stress testing. The team crafts and updates actuarial models to forecast insurance business and to determine levels of insurance liabilities and capital.
Responsibilities may include:
- Assist in creating/updating actuarial models and assumptions, and model documentation
- Assist in setting and forecasting insurance liabilities and capital
- Assist in data analysis,
including producing reports & PowerPoint presentations to display the data
- Actively participate in the advancement and maturity of all aspects of the Program
Our ideal candidate:
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in a field related to actuarial mathematics or equivalent
- Progress in actuarial exams (CIA, SOA, or CAS)
- Proficiency in Excel/VBA, programming (SAS, Python), and data science skills
- Previous insurance or actuarial experience is an asset.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Motivated self-starter, good organizational and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Enthusiasm to tackle any task, whether menial or complex
- Bilingualism - French/English - is an asset
