Project SEARCH Ontario Workforce Engagement Strategist
The Ontario Disability Employment Network (ODEN) is seeking a dynamic and results-driven professional to join our team as a Workforce Engagement Strategist. This 5-year contract position will play a pivotal role in fostering employer partnerships, advancing workforce inclusion, and supporting the employment outcomes of Project SEARCH Ontario graduates.
This is a full-time position with a yearly salary of $75,000.
Position title: Project SEARCH Ontario Workforce Engagement Strategist
As the Project SEARCH Ontario Workforce Engagement Strategist, you will:
- Support the creation of a provincial network of employers engaged within Project SEARCH Ontario sites.
- Create and promote understanding of employers' labour market needs and hiring opportunities across multiple communities and employment service providers.
- Develop and foster relationships between businesses and their local community employment service providers to facilitate access to employment for Project SEARCH graduates.
- Be directly involved in the co-creation of Project SEARCH post-graduation Employment Support Quality Standards and Procedures that will support successful workforce inclusion of Project SEARCH graduates in pilot regions and beyond.
- Utilize effective outreach/sales techniques to actively market skills and strengths of Project SEARCH graduates across different communities in Ontario to prospective employers and business organizations to obtain diverse job opportunities for graduates.
- Be responsible for the development of resources such as reports, case studies, conference presentations, articles, etc.
linked to the co-creation of the Project SEARCH post-graduation Employment Support Quality Standards and Procedures.
- Participate in the development of various tools & toolkits for employers - utilizing various mediums - print, digital, video, etc.
- Organize and lead in-person and online events that support the employment outcomes for Project SEARCH Graduates to a variety of audiences such as Chambers of Commerce, HRPA groups, businesses, employment service providers, educators, family networks, and government departments.
You are someone who is:
- Passionate about increasing employment opportunities for youth who have a developmental/intellectual disability.
- Able to work independently, with minimal supervision, and on a virtual platform.
- Comfortable with data collection and summarizing learnings from stakeholder engagement to create content that translates and transfers knowledge.
- Able to travel extensively across Ontario on a regular basis, including overnight stays of at least 3 nights.
- An excellent presenter and comfortable delivering content to groups from 5 to 500 people.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 5-7 years' experience in workforce development roles such as employer liaison, employer engagement specialists, talent acquisition, job development, ideally within career development and/or workforce development fields with a focus on youth.
- Candidates must successfully complete a Criminal Record Check and a Vulnerable Sector police check.
- Related experience which demonstrates an understanding of the barriers and challenges experienced by job seekers with a focus on youth who have intellectual/developmental disabilities.
- In-depth knowledge of diversity, inclusion, equity and accessibility strategies for the business sector.
- Bilingual in French and English is an asset.
- Advanced computer literacy and competency level with MS Office 365 applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint, MS Teams), that enable you to successfully meet the functions of the role independently
- Must be proficient in Zoom, CRM databases, LMS systems and able to learn new platforms/applications quickly
- Experience working in a remote environment with a fully functional home office setup.

This position requires extensive travel, a fully functioning home office and access to a reliable transportation.
