The Calgary Zone, Addiction & Mental Health (AMH), Decision Support Team (DST) consists of three teams - an Education Team, an Evaluation Team, & a Clinical Informatics (CI) Team. The successful candidate will work within the CI Team as an Analyst. Your opportunity: Work collaboratively with clinical staff & Managers to support workflows, identify any gaps in existing learning, develop ways to fill learning gaps (e.g. creating Tip Sheets or facilitating system demonstrations), while ensuring adherence to standards & best practices. Participate in applicable governance groups, working groups, & committees as needed for ongoing awareness of issues, system improvements, & optimization efforts. Assist in the ongoing assessment, development,



& implementation of system changes (optimization) & user practices. Become a champion of the in-system reporting functionality that Connect Care provides to support the development & maintenance of Reporting Workbench and SlicerDicer reports. Support reporting & analytics initiatives, including data auditing, report development, & ad hoc requests for AMH in the Calgary Zone. Possess exceptional organizational skills, including time management & project management skills. Possess strong & demonstrated interpersonal skills, including the ability to receive direction, give direction, & collaborate with others on joint projects & team outcomes. Be interested in, and effective at, working with all stakeholders related to Connect Care (e.g. Calgary Zone AMH clinical staff, Managers, Executive Management, Physicians & also Information Technology, other Zonal & provincial CI Teams, & other AHS analytic teams). As an Analyst, you will coordinate and support a variety of complex program initiatives and work within an evidence based health promotion framework that collaborates with the multidisciplinary team to support the design, delivery, and evaluation of the program. You will lead the completion of required reporting on departmental deliverables, as determined. You will utilize research and evaluation knowledge, develop frameworks, plan methodologies, collect data, disseminate knowledge, and score and interpret psychological tests, while facilitating the uptake of recommendations.

Bachelor's degree in a health related field in conjunction with a minimum of two years' direct related experience or master's degree in a health related field. Experience in collecting, analyzing,



interpreting and reporting multiple measures data set. Experience in Mental Health performance indicator development. Experience in designing and conducting evaluation research.

Proficiency with Connect Care, including its general structure, common workflows, and available data elements. Previous experience creating in-system reports in Connect Care. Previous experience providing analytic/reporting support for the purpose of delivering health care. Intermediate experience working with data sets, analyzing data, summarizing data, etc. Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Ability to be a productive member of a multidisciplinary team and work independently when required. Highly motivated and proven ability to show an exceptional level of initiative, and attention to detail.



Ability to organize and facilitate both small and large meetings with a variety of stakeholders, and to achieve pre-determined meeting objectives. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with peers. The successful applicant must be solution focused and have a proven ability of solving complex and dynamic problems using critical thinking skills. Must possess exceptional communication skills (presentation, verbal and written). Must be a team player, working closely and collaboratively with DST CI colleagues.

Knowledge of AMH service delivery, business processes, and basic reporting needs. Experience with teaching/training adult learners. Experience with negotiation and conflict resolution for the purpose of balancing diverse, and occasionally conflicting,



interests. Previous experience accessing, working with, and reporting on back-end data from Connect Care (e.g. via Caboodle, Clarity and/or Snowflake). Intermediate to advanced skills in SQL, SPSS and Tableau.
