Job Description

As the Facilities Engineering student, you will gain valuable hands-on experience in your field of study. You will build valuable connections with business leaders, colleagues, and network with many other fellow co-op students joining ISI. This assignment provides an understanding of what a career at Irving Shipbuilding looks like in consideration for future permanent employment opportunities within our rapidly growing organization.

Responsibilities

- Assist the Facilities Engineering team with design and construction support activities related to facilities infrastructure projects.




- Monitor cost, schedule, scope and quality on assigned project.
- Perform field work inspections to update facilities record documentation and oversee contractors performing construction activities on site.
- Perform day to day engineering studies to support operations.
- Propose and participate in engineering studies to further develop our 5-year capital plan.

Qualifications

- Enrolled in a 4-year Bachelor of Engineering (any discipline) degree program.
- 0-2 years' experience.
- Progress towards Engineering in Training and Professional Engineer designation.
- Experience with Microsoft Office suite (particularly Outlook and Excel).
- Experience with drawing design and markup tools such as AutoCAD and Bluebeam would be considered an asset.
- Strong time management skills.
- Able to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal.
- Skilled in organizing and managing a variety of tasks with varying priorities, capable of learning fast, and effective problem solver.
