ROLE SUMMARYThis is a fixed term contract of 13-14 months as our Social Media Manager. Working as a member of the Content team, the role contributes to developing the overall social strategy and leads the planning and execution of content plans for consumer-focused social media platforms. Specifically, this position is focused on growing and engaging an online community of connected advocates who enthusiastically and frequently share our stories within their communities. This includes managing the overall social content calendar for the Consumer/Leisure audience segment while developing and distributing content through active community management of Destination Toronto’s consumer-focused social platforms.
This also includes managing the ambassador program, and planning and delivering contributor activations on the platforms. This position will lead paid social planning and creative development for always-on content initiatives while collaborating with other teams on paid media campaign-related social activations across all markets. This position will leverage analytics to develop actionable reports and insights supporting organizational objectives. CORE RESPONSIBILITIESProgram:Assist the Senior Manager, Content with the development and presentation of social media strategy Co-manage (with Digital Content Specialist & Marketing Coordinator) user-generated assets, including sourcing, categorizing and managing permissionsIdentify trends and emerging social platformsSummarize insights and conversations and work closely with Senior Manager, Content on the creation of actionable reports in support of organization objectives,
to create testing scenarios and adapt forward planningAttend Destination Toronto stakeholder and member events/properties for the purpose of generating real-time social contentLiaise with contracted agencies and suppliers as requiredEnsure consistent and compelling execution of Toronto brand in all channelsCommunity Management:Build and maintain a robust social publishing calendarDiligently maintain the calendar on shared department platformDevelop content and publish to Destination Toronto platforms, aligned to calendar and supporting consumer-focused initiatives Research and source photography and manage rights for UGC content across platformsModerate and respond to user content and conversation within brand channels to drive engagementLeverage social listening to surface customer insights, identify influencer opportunities or measure/report on social program impactAmbassador Program:Identify, recruit and manage a local network of Toronto ambassadors for the purposes of social and content collaborations (ex. My Toronto,
