Horizon Legacy, a leader in construction automation in Canada, has retained HNiExecutive Search to find their Director of Strategic Growth (Sales and Marketing) to join their team in Toronto.
About the Company
In an industry that has made relatively little progress in advancing the use of technology, Horizon Legacy has launched into the use of construction automation to create one of a kind, residential, and industrial structures by developing new automation tools (robotic systems) that will be accessible to construction professionals.
About the Opportunity
Reporting to the CEO,
the Director of Strategic Growth leads the Marketing & Business Development Department. Some of their responsibilities will be:
1. Develop annual Business Development Departmental Plan & Budgets
2. Speak to the market, get feedback, identify new processes for automation
3. Review effectiveness of market strategies and tactics by monitoring feedback from sales data, customer surveys, and benchmarking vs. major competitors
4. Develop annual Marketing Plan; conduct market research (primary and secondary), establish targets for market penetration, market development, and product/service development by sector and segment
5. Act as the primary media and public relations contact for the firm
6. Maintain contact with new customers to ensure a smooth onboarding process; present and discuss quotes with customers
7. Keep sales funnel filled on a monthly and quarterly basis with good prospects and qualified leads
8. Develop sales team and provide best practices and training as needed based on the company KPIs
9. Lead the Sales Division, delivering alternative concrete solutions through 3D printing
10. Plan and execute sales campaigns,
assist with industry trade show events
11. Negotiate and manage all construction and service contracts
12. Manage customer relations

About You
The right individual for this role will bring:
1. 5+ years of experience leading a Sales Team in Construction with a background in concrete/formwork.
2. Solid working relationships with developers, general contractors, architectural/landscaping firms
3. A hunter and a closer, this individual will bring a business mindset and project management experience
4. Able to work on estimates/pricing
5.
Excellent communication skills
6. Degree or technical diploma in Engineering or Construction Technology desirable
7. Strong knowledge of construction management budgeting and design-build process
8. Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills, customer oriented. The individual should be able to understand clearly the client requirements
