FREELANCE DESIGNER
We are looking for a talented, solutions-oriented designer to join our team for a three-month contract with possibility to extend. Our ideal candidate is detail-oriented, passionate about creative concepting, and has well-developed critical thinking skills. They should be confident in processing, reacting to, and creatively solving problems in a timely manner while autonomously managing their own projects, workflow and deadlines.
This role will report directly to our Creative and Design Director, working very closely on a range of projects and clients.
This is an exciting opportunity for anyone who is looking to work in a multifaceted role with projects ranging from the conception of brand identities through to web design and content development. We are looking for a confident self-starter who lives and breathes design, and wants to create amazing work while working very collaboratively with our team.
Responsibilities :
- Develop and design concepts to completion according to creative brief requirements.
- Maintain and apply brand identity systems, typography, photography, colour and other brand attributes to create innovative visual solutions that meet the needs of our client base.
- Visualize, design and conceptualize user experiences on digital platforms; bringing to life UX/UI, website design and digital and social media campaigns.
- 4-7 years of experience as a Designer. This role demands both rapid creative ideation and execution, as well as attention to detail in production-focused tasks, so a well-rounded design background is appreciated.
- Participate in all aspects of the design process including conceptual sketches, mood boards, brand narratives, conceptual imagery, brand touch points and executional considerations.
- Highly capable with production tasks,
delivering final art effectively, efficiently, and with minimal supervision.
- Strong organizational and file management skills.
- A strong interest in growing their presentation skills, creative ideation skills, and overall design craft.
- Ability to work from our Downtown Toronto office several days per week.
Experience:
- 5+ years of industry experience.
- Strong design portfolio (only candidates with a portfolio will be considered).
- Ability to multi-task with careful attention to detail.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
- Comprehensive knowledge of Figma.
- Experience in Motion / Animation, with a working knowledge of After Effects
- Artistic sense and passion for design with an eagerness to collaborate and grow.
- Interest in social and cultural trends in the advertising and marketing industries.
- Degree or Diploma in Design, Art Direction, or another related field.
