The Company:
Our client is a leader in their category and expanding in the Consumer Goods sector. They are rapidly growing their customer base and market share across North America by executing a strong road map through innovation and new product commercialization.
The Opportunity:
Seeking a proven, hands-on, Director of Operations, to lead their Production, Processes and People.
This is a ‘hands-on roll up your sleeves’ operations leadership role.
Requires a proven leader who has led plant turnarounds, expansions, and continuous improvement initiatives across the CPG sector.
Responsibilities and Deliverables:
- Build a culture focused on Quality,
teamwork and Health & Safety across all aspects of manufacturing.
- Drive a positive culture through motivation and engagement
- Inspire team to exceed expectations through continuous improvement.
- Manage long-term strategic plans and tactical implementation of production systems across the enterprise.
- Develop systems to evaluate, score, and implement manufacturing business system process improvements.
- Support new product development and continuous improvement by integrating tools (e.g. Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, etc.) into processes.
- Coach and develop production workers in problem-solving techniques and on-the-spot production troubleshooting.
- Manage employees and recommend optimal staffing levels and schedules.
- Improve production standards through time studies and other standard data development methods.
Ideal Qualifications and Competencies:
- Must have 10+ years of management experience in manufacturing
- University degree in Engineering OR Business Management preferred.
- Food, Beverage, Pharmaceutical, or other regulated CPG manufacturing experience required.
- Strong thought leadership with ability to independently take calculated risks.
- A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management skills.
- Highly motivated, energetic, positive and able to influence a team.
- Training and knowledge of Kaizen, and Lean Manufacturing are desirable.
- Extremely detail-oriented and analytical thinker.
- Must be able to operate with a sense of urgency and make key quickly
