Starting Rate of pay: $40.14 - 42.56/hour
(Rate will be $1 less during probationary period – 600 hours worked)
Shifts Available and Hours:
Biweekly rotating shifts with alternating schedules:
- Week 1: 4 days (48 hours), 12 AM – 12 PM
- Week 2: 3 days (36 hours), 12 AM – 12 PM
- Week 3: 4 days (48 hours), 12 PM – 12 AM
- Week 4: 3 days (36 hours), 12 PM – 12 AM
Job Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot and repair Cast House equipment effectively to minimize downtime
- Perform routine preventive and predictive maintenance on all production and building system equipment
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdown calls and complete assigned work orders
- Identify root causes of hydraulic and pneumatic issues, providing innovative solutions and recommendations for continual improvement
- Maintain a safe work environment, adhering to the Company's Health & Safety guidelines
- Perform other duties as assigned
Education and Experience Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an industrial environment
- Experience in the aluminum Cast House industry is an asset
- Valid Ontario Provincial Certificate of Qualifications as a Maintenance Mechanic or Millwright
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, as well as hydraulic, pneumatic, plumbing, and welding drawings
- Strong troubleshooting skills
- Basic welding and torching abilities
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple daily assignments with minimal supervision
- Knowledge of extrusion equipment is a definite asset
- Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English
- Commitment to upholding Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards in all tasks and operations
- Basic math skills
