About the Opportunity

Working with the IT Operations Team, the Technical Support Specialist is part of a team mandated with the support of the UJA Federation’s Information Technology hardware, software, data and infrastructure, supporting multiple organizations and agencies operating out of multiple locations. This role will have a strong focus on customer service and support, quality and accuracy and bringing timely resolution to user issues and requests.

This position will be required to travel between multiple UJA locations.

Key Responsibilities

- User Support:
- Act as the primary contact for technical assistance via phone, email, and in-person interactions.
- Provide Level 1 troubleshooting for laptops, desktops, tablets, mobile devices, and peripherals.
- Manage and resolve technical issues, escalating complex cases to higher support levels or external vendors as needed.

- Systems Administration:

- Administer and maintain user accounts, permissions,



and access rights (Active Directory, Exchange, etc.).
- Perform installations, updates, and maintenance for servers, network connectivity equipment, and IT infrastructure.

- Hardware and Software Management:

- Diagnose, repair, and maintain IT equipment, including PCs, printers, AV systems, and phone systems.
- Support the deployment and maintenance of software, ensuring compatibility and user efficiency.

- Event Support:

- Set up and manage audio/visual equipment for organizational meetings and events.

- Documentation and Training:

- Develop, revise, and maintain technical and procedural documentation for IT systems.
- Provide training to end users on software, hardware, and IT best practices.

- Incident and Request Management:

- Utilize IT helpdesk tools and knowledge bases to track, monitor,



and document technical issues to resolution.
- Follow ITIL-aligned processes for request prioritization, escalation, and resolution.

Qualifications

- Education:
- Post-secondary diploma or degree in an IT-related program.

- Experience:

- Minimum 1 year of experience in a similar technical support role.
- Exposure to corporate environments supporting both Windows and Mac systems (preferred).

- Technical Skills:

- Strong troubleshooting skills for a variety of hardware and software systems.
- Familiarity with IT infrastructure, including LAN/WAN networks, Active Directory, and Exchange.
- Experience with audio/visual setups and event technology.

- Certifications (preferred but not mandatory):

- ITIL Foundation, CompTIA A+, Network+, or equivalent certifications.

- Soft Skills:

- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.




- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Proven ability to handle multiple tasks in a high-paced environment, with attention to detail and quality.

Additional Information

- Flexible to travel between office locations as required.
- Availability to support occasional after-hours events or maintenance.

This is a full-time permanent position. Union Level 4. At UJA we support a flexible work schedule and all of our employees engage in hybrid work.
