Reporting to the Supervisor, the Parenting Time Facilitator will bring integrity, professionalism, keen observation skills and a desire to help families. The facilitator is responsible for supportive observation of supervised parenting time between non-residential parents, caregivers, and their children. Approaching this work from a strengths-based, trauma-informed, and non-judgmental perspective is essential to support the rebuilding of family bonds. The facilitator is responsible for being a positive and transparent member of the team who thrives in a fast-paced, independent, and highly communicative role.

This is a part-time position with the following schedule:

Wednesday 4-9pm

Thursday 4-9pm

Saturday 8:30-4:30pm

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

- Observe and support supervised parenting time neutrally, without making assessments or judgments.
- Ensure the safety of children and program participants by intervening when necessary.
- Maintain professional boundaries while building collaborative, supportive relationships with participants.
- Use a strengths-based, trauma-informed approach to guide parenting goals and skill development.
- Coach participants on healthy communication, co-parenting, emotional regulation, and family dynamics.
- Use cross-cultural knowledge to engage effectively with diverse clients, staff, and volunteers.




- Uphold ethical standards, ensuring participant privacy and confidentiality at all times.
- Escort children to and from visitation spaces and consult with caregivers about care instructions.
- Participate in regular case consultations with the program supervisor.
- Respond to participant inquiries and service requests via phone and email.
- Ensure accurate record-keeping and data entry through regular self-audits.
- Complete participant paperwork and case notes in accordance with program and funder requirements.
- Safeguard program technology by adhering to privacy and confidentiality standards.
- Participate in the annual performance process, set goals, and attend quarterly check-ins.
- Build strong working relationships with team members, YW employees, volunteers, and students.
- Integrate diversity, equity,



and inclusion principles into one’s role, work, and engagement with others, as aligned with YW Calgary’s values and Practice Framework.
- Ensure work aligns with YW Calgary’s Health, Safety, and Wellness policies while promoting a safe, inclusive, and psychologically healthy workplace. Report hazards or incidents promptly, address unsafe practices, and use required safety equipment to support risk mitigation and compliance with legislative standards.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

- A clear police information check including the vulnerable sector is required upon commencement of employment.
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Human Services, Social Work, Child Studies, or related field or equivalent in education and experience.
- Current professional registration as applicable i.e., RSW.




- Alberta Family Wellness Initiative’s Brain Story certification required or to be completed within 3 months of employment.
- First Aid and CPR certification required.
- Certification in Non-violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) and Applied Suicide Intervention Skills (ASIST) required or to be completed within 6 months of employment.
- Experience in systems navigation is an asset.
- Experience in facilitation an asset.
- Experience working with families impacted by separation, divorce, and/or domestic violence is an asset.
