THE POSITION

The Calgary Stampeders athletic therapy department is responsible for the assessment and rehabilitation of injuries, contributing to the overall health and performance of our athletes. We are seeking a dedicated and skilled assistant athletic therapist to join our team. Reporting to the head athletic therapist,



the successful candidate will be expected to effectively assess and rehabilitate player injuries, have excellent communication skills, and have a passion to work in a team sports environment.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

- Provide injury assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation of player injuries
- Collaborate and support the head athletic therapist with rehabilitation plans and return to play decisions
- Provide coverage for all practices and games
- Maintain accurate medical records of player injuries and treatment
- Lead seasonal athletic therapists and interns with weekly and daily tasks
- Maintain inventories and order medical supplies
- All other duties as assigned

THE INDIVIDUAL

The ideal individual will have the following background:

- Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology, or a related field
- Certified Athletic Therapist CAT(C) designation is required
- Additional certifications such at CSCS will be considered an asset
- Previous experience working in a team sports environment – football preferred
- Knowledge of common football injuries and rehabilitation strategies




- Ability to handle high-pressure situations
- Excellent communication skills and strong interpersonal skills
- Able to work an irregular work schedule, including evenings and weekends
