MANUFACTURING ENGINEERING MANAGERAutomotive industry - MIG welding, spot welding Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm3 weeks vacation to startbonus 10%-15%Salary up to $130,000Location Newmarket ACCOUNTABILITY OBJECTIVE: Lead manufacturing engineering programs and projects to improve plant operating performance, reduce scrap, improve quality, productivity and profitability.Plan,
coordinate and direct the implementation of new and/or revised product introductions.Ensure cost effective timely quotations for new business opportunities.Leadership role responsible for Manufacturing and Advanced Engineering team with interaction at all levels of the organization.RESPONSIBILITIES/EFFORTSManage cost estimates for equipment and labour driving effective quotations and cost estimations for customersConduct comprehensive cost reduction studies by evaluating and analyzing the design of specified parts to determine the most economical methods and procedures for manufacture and designing appropriate tools and equipment.Plan, coordinate and implement new products or revised product introduction. Oversee projects through all phases of the process, including machine specifications, tooling, jigs, costing, quoting, processes and scheduling.Manage engineering documents such as machine specifications and process control details.Consult with co-workers and provide technical assistance as requested in problem solving activities.Manages quoting, project management, acquisition, installation and buy-offs of new equipment and processesLead organization towards continual productivity improvements focusing on eliminating waste and reducing process variation throughout the organizationDrive cost reductions, VA/VE,
continuous improvement and R&D; activities.Performs all duties as assigned in accordance with and adherence to the TS 16949 Quality System StandardFollows Policies, Procedures and Work Instructions as outlined in the Quality Systems Manual and Employee HandbookPerforms all job functions in a safe and healthful manner, abiding by all health, safety, 5S and Housekeeping guidelines and rules;Reports all unsafe & unhealthy conditions to Management or a member of the Joint Health & Safety CommitteePerforms other tasks as requiredMINIMUM KNOWLEDGE/ PREREQUISITESDegree/ Diploma in either Mechanical, Manufacturing, Production, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent work experienceComputer skills in SolidWorks, Microsoft Word, Excel, and ProjectPREFERRED KNOWLEDGEDegree/Diploma in either Mechanical, Manufacturing, Production,
Industrial Engineering or equivalent work experienceMinimum 5-7 years of experience in a managerial and/or supervisory role.Minimum 7-10 years industrial experience, preferably in:automated assembly processMIG welding process, projection welding and spot-welding processesKnowledge in Laser welding is an assetTool and Die making and/or metal fabricationExcellent verbal & writing communication skillsStrong interpersonal skillsDirect & task orientedVery well organizedStrong attention to detailProblem SolvingTrouble ShootingAbility to work in a fast paced, changing environmentHigh level of computer workHeavy lifting up to 30lbs
