Our client, one of the world’s largest natural resource companies, is seeking a Principal Advisor, Safe Production System (SPS) to join their Global SPS team. This pivotal role focuses on driving systematic improvements to enhance their Triple Bottom Line (People, Planet, Profit). The successful candidate will collaborate with operational teams to foster a culture of excellence by implementing the Safe Production System and enabling sustainable performance improvements.
Reporting to the General Manager SPS Atlantic East, the Principal Advisor will be part of a dynamic team of experts specializing in Lean tools, operational excellence, and leadership coaching.
This role offers an exciting opportunity for individuals with a passion for driving change and fostering continuous improvement across multiple sites and teams.
Location: Saguenay, QC - Canada
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead performance improvement initiatives by conducting site assessments and supporting leaders in adopting effective tools and behaviors to achieve sustainable results.
- Develop and coach site leaders, Business Improvement (BI) teams, and SPS delivery teams in problem-solving, waste elimination, and Kaizen methodologies.
- Promote cultural transformation by modeling and coaching Lean principles and the SPS Mindsets & Behaviors framework.
- Facilitate training sessions, including SPS workshops on Best Practices, to enhance team capabilities.
- Collaborate with COO Design and Capability Teams to create benchmark Best Practices and training materials that support operational excellence.
Qualifications:
-Minimum of 8 years of experience
- A strong commitment to safety and alignment with the core values of care, courage, and curiosity.
- Extensive experience in operations, maintenance, or leadership roles,
preferably within the mining or related industries.
- Proven expertise in Operational Excellence, including mastery of PDCA, complex problem-solving, waste elimination, and Kaizen tools.
- Demonstrated ability to inspire and lead cultural and operational transformation efforts.
- Self-motivated and results-oriented, with the ability to work autonomously.
- Fluency in both French and English, written and spoken, as collaboration with global teams is required.
- Willingness to travel occasionally to site locations.
