Description
As an Associate Product Manager, you will be a key member of Canoe’s Marketing, Product Management and Analytics team. Leveraging your investment industry experience and analytical skills, your contributions will directly impact Canoe’s product positioning,
competitive edge and client satisfaction. You will collaborate with talented teams across sales, marketing, asset management, and operations teams to create compelling narratives, manage data and analytics, and develop strategies to best position Canoe’s mandates for success. Key Responsibilities
- Act as a subject matter expert and contact for product and portfolio management-related questions.
- Identify and articulate competitive advantages and value propositions for Canoe’s investment solutions.
- Collaborate with the asset management team to create engaging narratives and marketing content tailored to advisor, dealer, and institutional audiences.
- Support the creation of marketing collateral, web content, advertising, and promotional material.
- Gather, analyze, and report performance, risk, and tax-related metrics for Canoe’s investment products.
- Proactively analyze the competitive landscape to highlight actionable opportunities for the sales team.
- Maintain and enhance Canoe’s analytics platform, ensuring accuracy and reliability of data across materials, websites, and databases.
- Support portfolio management groups in creating performance, positioning, and risk reporting.
- Develop and deliver portfolio characteristics, performance reports, and other ad hoc quantitative analyses.
- Assist in product development initiatives,
including researching industry trends and gathering competitive insights.
- Monitor performance and sales trends of Canoe strategies against industry peers and highlight opportunities for growth.
- Enhance reporting for internal committees, including performance attribution and risk analysis.
- Work with sub-advisory relationships to support marketing collateral and positioning strategies.
Key attributes
- 5+ years of relevant industry experience in product management or analytics roles.
- Undergraduate degree in finance, economics, or a complementary business discipline.
- CFA Charterholder or candidate preferred.
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Power Point.
- Experienced in using Morningstar Direct and Bloomberg.
- Familiarity with VBA and managing large datasets is an asset.
- Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Client-focused and team-oriented, with strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
