OPERATIONS MANAGER - CONSTRUCTION

Landmark Solutions Ltd. (Landmark) has an immediate opening for an experienced Operations Manger-Construction to join our team. The Operations Manager-Construction will have a strong background in construction management, a commitment to operational excellence, be safety focused and the ability to lead a team towards successful project execution.

This is a full-time year-round position based out of our Salmon Arm location.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

This position is an integral part of the Landmark team. The Operations Manager – Construction, working out of our Salmon Arm facility, will work closely with the Construction Manager, Asset Equipment Manager and Chief Operating Officer to ensure all construction projects are completed safely and according to work quality and progress in conformance with the Landmark execution plan and contract specifications. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Duties and Responsibilities

- Ensure that the Construction teams have the operational support and resources needed to be successful (including long lead items and services).
- Responsible for the completion, maintenance, and distribution of the operational schedule,



including personnel, equipment, transport, accommodation, and travel.
- Responsible for the oversight of each construction site from inception to completion, working with Operations Team to ensure that the project is online to meet the project goals.
- Daily direction and support to construction personnel, ensuring that activities, organization, and processes maintain a safe and efficient workplace.
- Lead incident investigations for the Construction Division. Ensure timely implementation of the corrective actions identified by the Field incident Report and/or Incident investigation.
- Work directly with the Project Manager and/or Supervisor to identify and solve operational constructability challenges
- Provide direction and support to the Construction teams to ensure consistency, and optimum performance and function.

- Receive, review,



approve, and process daily reporting from active Project Sites (e.g. Pre-works, Site Inspections, Incident Reports, First Aid Reports, Spill Reports, Pre-start Reports, LEMS, Timesheets, etc.
- Foster employee development and progress through effective coaching, open and respectful communication, and clarity in direction, expectations, and accountability
- Maintain and create strong customer relationships with suppliers and sub-contractors

- In cooperation with the Construction Manager to complete scheduling, planning, personnel development and training, budgeting, and spending forecasts.
- Assist the Construction Manager in the personnel interviewing process, performance reviews, and disciplinary process.
- Work with the Estimating Manager,



Construction Manager and Asset Manager to ensure a clear hand-off of new work to the Operations Team.
- Promote productive and positive communication within the Construction teams.
- Plan, direct, and coordinate daily operations to ensure efficient project execution
- Develop and implement project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans
- Monitor construction projects to ensure they are completed on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
- Supervise and provide leadership/support to project managers, site supervisors, and other team members
- Collaborate with stakeholders to address challenges and ensure client satisfaction
- Enforce compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and company policies
- Analyze operational performance and implement process improvements
- Prepare and present progress reports to senior management and clients




- Maintain and create strong customer relationship with suppliers and sub-contractors

Job Requirements and Skills

- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and quality standards in the construction industry.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
- You must have a strong safety mindset, with a focus on results.

- Have a strong awareness and attitude towards workplace health and safety.
- Excellent organizational and administrative skills are critical, and you must be able to work with minimal direction.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary.

- Some travel to remote sites may be required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

The successful candidate will be a proven leader, with the ability to engage, coach, lead,



and drive performance across your group and other support groups through indirect influence. Other requirements include:

- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field is preferred.
- At least 5 years of proven experience in construction operations management or a similar role.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office is expected.

- Combinations of experience and education will be considered.

- Valid BC Class 5 Driver’s License with clean driving record and the confidence to drive safely in a variety of road conditions.
