This leading global asset management firm is fast-seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer to join their Data & Analytics team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key part in modernizing the firm’s data infrastructure and improve upon their corporate reporting systems, shaping how the data drives their long and short term business decisions.
You’ll be working in an agile, Scrum-based squad, collaborating with Product Owners, Data Analysts, and fellow Data Engineers with team sizes ranging from 5-8 members.
Your main responsibilities will include developing and optimizing large-scale data pipelines, ingesting data from multiple sources (including third-party vendors), and building core datasets that support crucial business insights. This role will also involve working on the decommissioning of legacy systems and integrating them into a more modern, scalable data platform.
The role offers you a chance to be part of an incredibly transformative project. You’ll contribute to the replacement of outdated systems with innovative, future-proof solutions and leverage your expertise in data modeling to completely ensure that business concepts are translated into clear, structured data models, supporting the transition to a more robust architecture.
This position requires strong technical skills in Spark, Airflow, and Python (to name a few).
That said, it’s not just about coding. The firm values problem-solving abilities and a commitment to best practices in software development. You’ll need to produce high-quality, maintainable code while working effectively with cross-functional teams.
Excellent communication skills are crucial for collaborating with business stakeholders and ensuring technical solutions meet business objectives.
This is a great opportunity for passionate data engineers, eager to make a real impact in asset management. Additionally, following a company-wide hybrid structure, this role would 100% require you to work on-site at least 3x per week.
The maximum hourly rate you'd receive for this role is $100 CAD.
