NAC is currently seeking a full-time Electrical Project Manager experienced with high voltage installation, to join our team for Water and Wastewater Treatment Plant projects in the Greater Ottawa Area. Furnished accommodations provided to qualified candidates.
The Electrical Project Manager (PM) is ultimately responsible for the overall health, wealth & safety of the project. The PM is visionary of how a project will be created, implemented and managed to the successful completion. The PM will be the leader for overall positive approach to influencing the direction of the project in both words and actions. Create, Manage and be Responsible for the Implementation of:

- Create and/or choose a team for the project to successfully execute the goals by understanding each team member’s strengths and weaknesses. Making sure that the team comes together and works effectively and efficiently.
- Assist with pricing extra work and tracking changes on the project.
- Generate and review RFI’s.
- Oversee the equipment control log.
- Review O&M;’s.
- Responsible for the owner communications, training plan,



schedules and appropriate sign off documentation.
- Ensure the quality control program meets the requirements of the specific project.
- Reviewing of the estimate, identifying specific areas for improving project margin(s).
- Attend bi-weekly meetings with Project and Trade Superintendents, and Forepersons.
- Responsible for the creation of goals and tracking for each member of your team (Project Superintendent, Project Coordinator, Trades Superintendents, forepersons and project coordinators).
- Responsible for project close out; substantial completion, total completion and warranty call systems.
- Document lessons learned to be implemented on a go forward basis for overall project improvements.
- Recommend changes in the scope of work by envisioning problems, alternatives, etc., to drive success and to increase profits.




- Accountable for the project team member’s work program including the monitoring of the project coordinators, HSE officers and supervisor’s responsibilities.
- Following the delegation of the work to the appropriate team members based on strengths, maintain awareness and check work completed, as well in/out correspondence.
- Ensure a good working relationship with all subcontractors, suppliers and vendors.
- Responsible for maintaining good working relationships with all workers and setting a high standard for productivity and quality.
- Closely monitor the efforts and billing of third-party workers, such as consultants, contractors, and other specialists.
- Serve as the key point of contact within NAC for electrical submittals. Review submittals to ensure contract compliance. Engage with vendors, consultants,



or other project stakeholders as required.
- Assist project teams with submittal decisions while considering CPM schedule (i.e. RAR versus RAN).
- Attend FAT's for projects as required. Ensure equipment deficiencies are rectified prior to shipment. Ensure proper follow-up documentation is requested and received.
- Assist with awards. Review contract documents against quotations and BoM's to ensure contract conformity and full scope of supply. Identify potential scope gaps and communicate with the project team.
- Generate reports as requested by the Operations Manager.
- Assist Operations Manager, Purchasing, and/or project teams with reviewing and defining technical scopes of work. This may include testing requirements, studies, programming, etc.

Requirements:




- Construction related degree/diploma or an equivalent combination of technical training & experience. Experience with high voltage installation is a key requirement.
- Electrical trade certification required.
- 5+ years’ experience as an Electrical Project Manager and have exposure to similar heavy construction projects.
- Proven Project Management experience (PM certification is an asset).
- Experience with facility commissioning/automation and closeout is an asset.
- Ability to develop and manage detailed work plans, project schedules, estimates and resource plans in conjunction with project members.
- Proven track record for productivity, profitability and cost analysis.
- Strong computer skills related to the Construction/ Electrical Industry.
- Establish key project metrics and take appropriate action to manage accordingly.
- Advanced knowledge of various construction disciplines, safety regulations, scheduling, planning,



cost control & engineering drawings.
- Demonstrated success in project delivery and execution of project management methods.
- Possess an intuitive grasp of organizational structure in order to manage cross-departmental and cross-disciplinary resource allocation.
- Proven effective negotiation, diplomatic, and conflict resolutions skills.
- Strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing, with all levels of staff, including technical, professional, and upper management.
