Project Manager - 12-month contract
In this role, you will we working with the mortgage team and managing the implementation of technology projects. This is a hands-on role that will partner with internal stakeholders, software vendors and consultants to ensure the smooth execution of the project
RESPONSIBILITIES
The IT Project Manager's role is to manage the project from initiation to post-implementation.
- Lead a project with a million-dollar budget or more, with a duration of 12-18+ months. Able to manage 3-4 projects parallelly and has focused approach to keep business sponsor’s objectives on track.
- Be focused in creating the project charter, project scope document, maintaining the risk and issues register,
support transition document and project closure deliverables.
- Be responsible for building out the project plan by communicating with relevant teams and required stakeholders.
- Prepare and manage project budget and highlight any concerns in a timely manner.
- Must have excellent communication and presentation skills to deliver project reporting to senior management and stakeholders.
- Be capable of identifying the key risks and issues in the project and working with teams to identify problem resolution strategies
- Lead project team through problem determination and issue resolution as required
- Collaborate and build the test strategy and test plan and ensure the communication and effective execution of the various testing cycles
- Familiar with people change management risk assessment process from business team perspective.
- Prepare and present status reports to the project committee and steering committee.
- Accountable for tech/business work package planning, execution and implementation.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of 8 + years of Project delivery experience with strong experience managing multiple IT projects. Should have the experience of maintaining project budgets and reporting.
- Experience in Mortgage Lifecycle including Origination, Onboarding, Underwriting and Servicing will be an advantage.
- Great to have: Project Management Certification (PMP) with strong understanding of IT project management phase.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- NOTE: This is a hybrid position and candidates must be able to work 4 days in the office, located in Downtown Toronto.
