What we are looking for:
The Vice President of Finance & Controller will be a key finance leader for Fiera Capital Corporation and will report directly to the Senior Vice President, Chief Accounting Officer.
This role includes responsibility for all aspects of financial controllership, statutory filings, and financial statements for various funds. It involves managing financial audits, compliance with local regulations, and collaborating with a team of finance professionals.
Your responsibilities:
- Lead the preparation of audited non-consolidated financial statements in accordance with IFRS.
- Production of fund financial statements and compliance with local rules and regulations.
- Participate in the annual audit of the funds and support internal audit committees.
- Engage with custodians and administrators for financial oversight.
- Support Corporate Finance in consolidating financial statements and financial analysis.
- Develop forecasts and budgets for Fiera Capital Canada.
- Ensure adherence to all financial regulatory and compliance matters.
- Lead and develop the accounting team for efficient month-end close processes.
- Document accounting policies consistent with corporate standards.
- Maintain effective internal controls for management certification.
- Manage relationships with external auditors.
Must have requirements to be successful in this role:
Education & Accreditation
- CPA, CA designation.
- University degree in Accounting or Commerce.
Experience & Specific Skills
- 15 years of experience with management in Asset Management, Corporate Finance, and Fund Accounting.
- Experience in a big 4 accounting firm.
- Leadership ability to develop and guide teams.
- Technical accounting knowledge under IFRS.
- Strong project management and strategic skills.
- Experience with SAP S/4Hana and related tools is an asset.
