Job Summary

Lauren Services is seeking an Intermediate Process Engineer to join our team. The role involves working on various oil, gas, mining, and renewable energy projects, ensuring high-quality, cost-effective, and timely project execution.

Responsibilities

- Process Engineering Design:




- Proficiency in Process Engineering design
- Develop Block Flow Diagrams (BFD), Process Design Basis (PDB), Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Heat & Material Balances (HMB), Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs;), Line Designation Tables (LDTs), Design Basis Memorandum (DBM), Shutdown Keys, and Process Control Narratives
- Conduct Conceptual Studies, pre-FEED, and FEED studies (FEL1, FEL2, FEL3)
- As-Built existing facilities

- Regulatory and Compliance:

- Knowledge of Regulatory Requirements/Compliance and Industry Codes and Standards (ABSA, ANSI, API, CZA 662)
- Serve as Engineer of Record when required

- Project Management and Teamwork:

- Work independently or in multi-discipline project teams
- Communicate effectively with team members and clients
- Manage project workload and performance

- Technical Skills and Experience:

- Strong debottlenecking and troubleshooting skills
- Experience with Natural Gas Systems, Distribution Systems, Process Modeling, and blow downs




- Familiarity with large central compressors (30-40 horsepower), including considerations for sizing such as horsepower, isentropic efficiencies, and thermal efficiencies
- Knowledge of AIR Coolers – Fin fan coolers, SURGE, and STONE WALL

- Safety and Risk Management:

- Lead or participate in PHAs, HAZOPs, HAZIDs, LOPA

Skills

- Familiarity with applicable codes, standards, and industry practices
- Excellent communication skills for interaction with peers, project managers, site managers, and clients
- Proven track record as a design engineer
- Ability to work in a team of engineers, designers, and support personnel

Education & Experience

- Engineering degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline
- P.Eng. designation in Alberta, BC, and other jurisdictions is beneficial




- 10+ years of Technical Experience in Process Engineering
- Experience in Oil & Gas production facilities, Compression Facilities, Gathering Systems, Pipeline facilities, Fractionation Plants, Turbo-Expander Cryogenic Plants, Dehydration Units, Waste Heat Recovery, Renewable Energy Processes, and Loading Terminals
- Proficiency in Process Simulation software such as HYSYS and Symmetry or equivalent

Additional Information

- The job is a hybrid arrangement between our Calgary office and remote work and may require travel to project sites.
