Position Information
Join our team as an Epic Analyst in the Health Information System (HIS) Department!
We are currently seeking an Analyst to lead the Epic Ancillary application teams including Cupid, Optime, Radiant, Anesthesia and Lumens.
The HIS Department is responsible for the continuing and ongoing support of patient safety and care through maintaining and improving the Atlas Alliance's Epic Health Information System. The Atlas Alliance is a partnership of 10 Ontario healthcare institutions sharing one Epic HIS. The vision of the HIS Department is to continue to support and upgrade our integrated health information management system and increase the quality and safety of care, enhancing both the patient and provider experience now and for generations to come.

What You Will Do
You will be responsible for leading application teams whose function is building and maintaining the Epic HIS for the Atlas Alliance group of health organizations. As a leader,
you will be expected to manage projects and large multi-disciplinary project teams as required and to train and mentor other employees. This role does not have a direct supervisory requirement but you may be asked to provide input into performance reviews and career planning for junior staff.
- Establish objectives, targets, and performance measures to support continual improvement of program or projects for the department, in collaboration with their manager.
- Assist in the development and monitoring of systems, structures, and practices in place to meet quality control and quality assurance standards.
- Evaluate existing business processes to assess current efficiency, efficacy and/or internal controls.
- Review and action build changes and affects associated change management processes during Epic upgrade cycles.
- Collaborate with Atlas Alliance regional stakeholders to determine departmental, business,
and operational requirements and goals.
- Develop and manage internal communications tools such as reports, briefing notes, background materials, presentations, and analysis for Atlas department Alliance initiatives.
- Stay abreast of latest process and Epic advancements to improve process efficiency, efficacy and/or internal controls.
- Collaborate with Digital Education Team on the development of training materials/plan/strategy.
- Support all levels of employees and physicians on a 24/7 rotating basis, including on-call support, as required as well as act as a liaison between the stakeholders and the various support teams.
- Coordinate and administer the implementation of Epic activities and/or projects; provides technical guidance, fosters partnerships/collaborates with key stakeholders to meet the Atlas Alliance's goals and objectives.
- Serve as a liaison between stakeholders and/or Atlas Alliance regional working groups and the project team; use expertise to make decisions around deliverable prioritization and scope and assesses viability of solutions.
- Monitor and coordinate the execution of projects and provide administrative assistance for project documentation, project specifications, etc.
- Provides regular status updates to Management during Epic systems implementations, upgrades, and/or optimizations.
- Ensures less experienced staff maintain up to date documentation of key business processes
- Organize and oversee the activities of less experienced staff to ensure project objectives are achieved.
What You Will Bring
- University degree and/or college plus equivalent experience in a relevant discipline;
- Minimum of ten (10)
years progressive experience in Information Systems and/or Heathcare setting including previous experience in project management
- Minimum of five (5) years of leadership experience in a large, complex organization
- Experience leading teams in the implementation of medium to large scale systems and solution design;
- Experience in leading multidisciplinary teams;
- Excellent analytical, problem solving, critical thinking, and decision-making skills;
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, organizational skills, and presentation skills;
- Experience in documenting and communicating processes and procedures;
- Ability to work independently and collaborate closely with team members;
- Ability to prioritize a large number of requests;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word);
- Must be eligible to work in Canada.
You will stand out with:
- Epic certification in one or more of the following applications: Cupid, OpTime, Radiant, Anesthesia, Lumens.
- Experience working in a large healthcare organization;
- Experience in a hospital diagnostic imaging department;
- Experience in Perioperative and/or Endoscopy hospital departments;
- Experience developing and implementing standardized policies/procedures/protocols;
- Experience with quality assurance of clinical systems;
- Ability to facilitate working sessions with large user communities and obtain agreed to functional/design and workflow requirements
- Proficiency in English and French - oral expression (advanced level) and comprehension (advanced level).
