We have an exciting opportunity in our Corporate Communications Department. We are currently hiring two (2) Senior Communications Advisors.

What You Will Do

You will be responsible for the management of communications projects; overall administration and editorial direction of corporate publications and communications; and provision of internal and external communications plans and communications products that enhance corporate image and relations with internal and external audiences. Oversees the planning,



writing and production of communications products for print and on-line that enhance corporate image and relations with internal and external audiences.

As the Senior Communications Advisor, you will also provide communication advice and counsel to internal clients, senior management, executives, and TTC Board members. In addition, write and develop issue notes and briefing notes; write and disseminate media material; assist with media relation and plan and execute media events; and develop key messages when acting as TTC spokesperson. Establish and maintain Toronto media networks and good working relationships, including with mainstream media, bloggers and transit advocates.

In addition to the above, you will support diversity, inclusion, and a respectful work and service environment that is free from discrimination and harassment.

What Qualifications Do You Bring?

- Completion of a post-secondary degree/diploma in Communications, Journalism, Public/Media Relations, or the equivalent, combined with seven to ten years of directly related work experience.
- Strong knowledge of communications, journalism and public relations concepts, principles and techniques.
- Excellent knowledge of the corporate communications field including various forms of internal and external communications such as printed materials, social media, video, film, TV and radio.
- Excellent research, writing,



editing and presentation skills.
- Must possess sound judgement and the ability to exercise discretion and sensitivity; excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to establish effective internal/external working relationships.
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills as well as strong planning and organizational skills to co-ordinate multiple projects from concept to execution and meet time sensitive deadlines.
- Strong technical skills in Microsoft Office combined with applied knowledge of desktop design, publication/production/presentation software and new technologies, digital and social media communications and print, television and/or radio production.




- Must have or rapidly acquire a comprehensive knowledge of the Ontario Human Rights Code and related orders including disability accommodation and accessibility requirements pertaining to passengers and employees.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to organize and prioritize work while meeting stringent deadlines.
- Must possess ability to manage competing priorities and demands in a rapidly changing environment
