Toromont Cat is looking for a Sales manager to join the team! The Concord Sales Manager will lead, develop and inspire the Equipment Sales team in the achievement of critical strategic goals, and will support strong business decisions, while delivering a superior customer experience. This individual will report into the Concord Branch Manager, and will collaborate with other members of the capital region, sales operations and head office teams in driving operational excellence and strong financial outcomes across the region. For the ideal candidate, this role is also positioned as a tremendous growth opportunity, with the potential to grow into a Branch Manager role in 18 – 24 months’ time.

In a typical day, YOU will:
- Model the way for safe, environmentally sound and healthy work behaviours in support of Toromont’s safety culture
- Drive growth and profitability across all product lines and strategic offerings
- Lead, inspire and coach Equipment Sales team and Sales Operations in the achievement of critical business objectives by setting clear expectations and through diligent follow up of related activities
- Ensure adequate and effective coverage of accounts and of assigned territories to support existing customers as well as drive new growth, particularly across strategic portfolios
- Leverage sales reporting information for strategic decision making and to provide guidance and make recommendations to team members for improved outcomes
- Assume P&L; accountability in analyzing financial statements, reports, forecasts, and budgets to support financial performance indicators/business objectives
- Be an active coach and partner to your team, spending 75% of the time travelling with MSR’s and visiting customers
- Make business decisions which balance needs of all stakeholder groups including policy guidance to MSRs to ensure highest level of customer satisfaction
- Collaborate at a regional level via integration of sales initiatives and enhanced coverage for key regional customers.
- Provided that the right skills, attributes and growth potential are demonstrated, the successful candidate may have the opportunity to grow into the Brooklin Branch Manager role in 18 – 24 months’ time
Must-haves for this role:
- Post-Secondary Education preferred with 5 years’ experience in a sales/leadership capacity in the heavy equipment, construction or related industry
- Strong commitment to safety culture excellence with a robust appreciation of Toromont Operating Policies and Code of Conduct
- Exceptional communication, relationship development and interpersonal skills to collaborate at all levels and with cross functional teams
- Ability to coach, support and provide guidance to a team of sales professionals,
ensuring excellence in the areas of KPI achievement, process disciplines and customer experience
- Strong technical knowledge of all products supported by Toromont Cat and related partner offerings;
- Solid understanding of the current business conditions, market place and customer base and a strategic ability to anticipate and understand key trends that may impact future outcomes
- Proven business and financial acumen with effective decision making leveraging various resources, reporting and sales and market indicators
- Astute negotiation and influencing skills, with the ability to support complex customer offerings and challenging business scenarios.
- Ability to effectively adapt and prioritize in a high-pressure, fast-paced, deadline driven environment.

- Computer literate with proficiencies in Word, PowerPoint and Excel
- Knowledge of CAT SIS, DBS, or experience with Toromont operations would be an asset
- Willing and able to travel as required across the GTA
- Valid Driver’s Licence and clean Driver’s Abstract
