ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to Program Manager Systems & Support (Digital Environmental), this position is responsible for research, planning and managing implementation of new systems, support maintenance and day-to-day performance of existing business technologies and enterprise systems. Leads project teams and provides guidance with activities related to department business technology projects and enterprise system roadmap. Research, recommends and implements solutions to ensure business objectives are met,



with a focus on staying abreast of emerging technologies and incorporating innovative solutions, such as intelligent automation, predictive analytics, and scalable cloud infrastructure, where appropriate.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

- Participates in the development, integration, testing, documentation, implementation, maintenance and support of relevant systems and associated technologies.
- Provides technical and data support and maintenance, including documentation, problem identification, investigation, and resolution for all relevant stakeholders.
- Supports business functional areas with any related systems and new program initiatives.
- Provides troubleshooting analysis and resolution on all systems and documents follow up on all incidents, sensitive issues, and significant occurrences.
- Ensures systems integration,



configuration and testing of relevant applications with underlying technology infrastructure prior to all installations, in consultation with all stakeholders.
- Coordinates specific assigned systems development and implementation activities, including preparation of the user requirements, definition and systems analysis, consults with stakeholders as necessary.
- Assesses impact of data warehouse and business intelligence system on existing business processes and procedures; revises processes and procedures; makes recommendations to management staff for the use of revised business processes and procedures and develops transition plans.
- Researches and evaluates new technologies, future systems, software, and hardware components related to relevant systems, including advanced technologies such as AI/ML frameworks,



robotic process automation and cloud-based platforms.
- Manages projects and leads project teams, ensuring timely delivery of products and services through project management principles and techniques, and tracks project activities, timelines and project deliverables.
- Supports the development and implementation of relevant process/procedures following continuous assessment of the system, makes recommendations for improvements, as required.
- Facilitate sessions with departmental users to understand solution outcomes and collaborate with the different delivery teams to support successful implementation of the milestones.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

- Successful completion of a Community College Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Technology, or related discipline or approved equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum five (5)



years’ demonstrated experience with hardware and software configurations, software development, deploying and supporting technology systems including relevant enterprise software applications such as JIRA, Service Management, Microsoft Applications, etc.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of business systems development and maintenance life cycle processes, configuration, data, and modern programming languages as applicable in the following:
- Environmental business systems may include the following: asset and work order management, energy management, quality management and compliance, sensor-based water/wastewater monitoring, digital asset management, weigh stations,



construction management, IT network and security cameras.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience of systems development life cycle processes using databases, and programming languages and related technologies.
