As the largest amateur multi-sport competition in the country, the Canada Games bring together over 3,000 high calibre athletes and coaches in more than twenty disciplines. Alternating between summer and winter, every two years, they showcase the immense talent and perseverance of our champions. The winter edition of the Canada Games will take place in Québec City from February 27 to March 14, 2027.

Your Role
History is made with the right people. Are you looking for an exciting challenge in finance? Join our team as an Advisor, Finance and Administration. In this key role, you will be responsible for managing the daily financial and accounting operations of the Host Society, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of our financial and administrative processes.
Your HR expertise will allow you to:
- Act as a resource person to advise the Host Society on best practices, laws, and regulations related to finance and accounting
- Coordinate all financial, budgetary, and accounting operations, including cash and investment management, accounts payable and receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations
- Establish and implement adequate internal controls for all financial, budgetary, and accounting operations
- Supervise and support the work of the accounting clerk
- Ensure the organization's tax compliance and contribute to tax return preparation (including GST/QST and income tax returns)
- Manage the complete payroll cycle, including deductions, taxes, and government remittances
- Prepare and ensure compliance of financial statements, budgets, management reports, and accountability documents
- Prepare audit support documentation and act as resource person for external auditors
- Oversee cash management at Games’ sites
- Monitor budgets and analyze variances
- Manage the purchase order system and support procurement processes

Keys to success

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
- 3 years of relevant experience in Accounting or Finance
- Proficiency with accounting software (SAGE or equivalent)
- Excellent knowledge of accounting principles, tax standards, and accounting laws and regulations
- Criminal background check required
