Our Valued Public Sector Client is seeking a Data Modeler to create enterprise architecture assessment artifacts and data models to enhance data governance standards for a case management system.

Project Description:
The objective is to provide architectural support for the development of the integrated complaint reporting and management system. This includes, developing architectural artifacts across the domains of Business, Information/Data, Application, Technology and Security (BIATS), ensuring alignment with Government of Canada enterprise architecture standards for digital projects, and facilitating future integration with other systems

Must Have:
Data Modeler (2+ years)
Designing data models (2+ years)




Data and Enterprise Architecture (1+ years)
Industry: Defence, Intelligence or National Security domain (3+ years, within last 5)
Degree or Diploma in Computer Science or Engineering

Tasks:
Develop enterprise architecture assessment artifacts across business, data, application, technology, and security domains, document, design a data model for efficient reporting, and create/manage process diagrams.
Design and implement a data model supporting efficient, accurate reporting by organizing data relationships, optimizing data flow, and ensuring accessibility for real-time insights and analytics.
Define and catalog metadata for each data object and establish process linkages, ensuring data traceability, ownership, retention, and governance to support complaint handling functions.
Use Business Process Model Notation (BPMN 2.0) to define data flows, relationships, and dependencies between processes, activities, and data objects, ensuring alignment with the Enterprise Data Model and data governance standards.




Prepare and organize artifacts for review and approval by the architectural review boards. These artifacts should adhere to TOGAF and Zachman framework principles to ensure consistency and alignment with DND Architecture Framework.
Design a data model that supports efficient, accurate reporting, optimizing data flow and establishing clear data relationships. This model should be aligned with DAMA-DMBOK data governance principles to enhance data integrity and accessibility for analytics.
Ensure the data model incorporates best practices for traceability, data ownership, retention, and governance, providing a robust foundation for consistent and reliable reporting across complaint management functions.
Document each stage's activities (e.g., capturing details, assigning resources, conducting investigations) using BPMN 2.0 for clear visualization and integration with the data model,



enhancing process clarity and alignment with GC transformation objectives.
Create and manage architecture and business process diagrams, applying consistent shapes, color-coding, and swim lanes to represent activities, decisions, and data objects, improving readability and usability for stakeholders.
