Position: Mortgage UnderwriterLocation: Langley, BCDepartment: UnderwritingJOB DESCRIPTION:Bayfield Mortgage Professionals Ltd. is a small mortgage brokerage company, with head office located in Langley, BC. Bayfield manages a Mortgage Investment Corp. (MIC) and we are currently seeking a full-time Mortgage Underwriter to join our growing team/family.Bayfield has been managing MICs since the late 1980s. Currently, mortgages under administration are located across BC., Alberta and Manitoba. We are in the process of expanding to Ontario and are looking forward to growing the portfolio.RESPONSIBILITIES:Work closely with your co-workers and our clients to build strong relationships both internally and externallyBe a team player,
able to share your underwriting expertise to support your co-workers, managers and mortgage brokers – and in turn be able to learn from and/or follow direction from other senior members of the team.Provide ongoing communication with brokers and teammates, maintain the highest level of customer service while addressing inquiries, providing status updates and offering clarification on underwriting decisions.Ensure accurate and complete record-keeping, including communication with brokers regarding missing or incomplete information, questions pertaining to applications, etc.QUALIFICATIONS:In addition to qualifications mentioned prior, we are looking for someone to join our team who thrives in a fast-paced environment, yet knows how to have fun, and also;Adapt quickly to changing circumstances and thrive in a dynamic environmentQuick decision-making under pressureBe able to collaborate effectively with colleagues and contribute to team successExcel in communication and relationship buildingDemonstrate strong time management and organizational skills and be able to manage priorities efficiently.Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to challengesBe customer oriented, and commit to delivering exceptional service to both our broker partners and clientsMust Have 3 – 5+ years experience as an underwriter or have relevant industry experienceMust have a valid Mortgage agent/mortgage broker license in British ColumbiaCOMPENSATION:Full time position office-based position in our Langley, BC officeSalary paid bi-weekly, based on experienceHours: Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pmExtended health benefits after 3 months2-3 weeks vacation based on experience5 days paid sick leaveBENEFITS: Company eventsExtended Health care including Dental & Vision CareOn site parking
