Job Description
AECOM
is looking for a
Sustainable Engineering Intern
to be based out of our
Calgary, AB
office.
This will be a 12 or 16 month internship expected to begin May 2025 or September 2025.
During the period of employment, the successful candidate may be engaged on a variety of projects and technical scopes, covering a variety of sustainability topics and implementation within technical engineering disciplines.
The successful candidate will be part of the of the Energy Transition, ESG and Decarbonization Team, but depending on internal opportunities available, may spend time supporting various technical disciplines across AECOM on sustainability-related projects and initiatives.
Job Responsibilities Include but not limited to: Strategic decarbonization planning
GHG emission inventory development
Operational and embodied carbon modelling within infrastructure development
Supporting infrastructure sustainability certification pathways, e.g. LEED, Envision
ESG strategy development
Sustainability reporting development
Community and Indigenous engagement
Energy transition planning
Operational energy modelling
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: Completed 3rd Year of relevant engineering program, e.g.
Sustainable Systems Engineering, Green Process Engineering, at a Canadian university, and planning to return to their studies following completion of their internship.
Recent graduates must have been enrolled in their bachelor's degree in the most previous school term with an interest in pursuing an advanced degree in the same or similar discipline at the conclusion of the internship.
Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated problem-solving, critical thinking, and time-management skills.
Strong oral and written communications skills.
Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
Strong research and report writing.
Proficiency in standard office suite software applications.
Additional Information
Relocation assistance is not available for this position.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications.
The expected range is $24.00/hour - $32.00/hour.
