Clinical Research Project Assistant (Part-Time) - Clinical Pharmacology
The Clinical Research Project Assistant works closely with a graduate research student, the clinical research project manager, and/or P.I. to assist in study operations.
Here¿s What You¿ll Get To Do
This position includes many of the basic tasks of the clinical research process, such as entering data, conducting literature searches, etc. Examples of tasks include the following:
Protocol Related
- Contribute to the preparation of reports, presentations, and manuscripts
- Conduct medical literature searches
- Data collection: Check data for accuracy and completeness, enter data, and conduct data cleaning
- Assist with qualitative data analysis
- Create patient and family-facing educational materials (e.g., infographics and short videos) on biomedical science topics
- Create researcher-facing educational materials (e.g., compiling a pharmacology resource library/database and generating whitepapers on pharmacology considerations in gene and cell therapies)
- Attend relevant meetings or rounds to increase knowledge and understanding
Research Subject Related
- Follow-up with subjects on study requirements
- Obtain informed consent for a qualitative study (focus group)
- Explain questionnaires and study materials to subjects
- Assist with conducting focus groups on Microsoft Teams and collecting field notes
Education/Experience Required
Here¿s What You¿ll Need:
- Completed or currently enrolled in a post-secondary degree in the sciences, social sciences, or a health-related discipline
- At least one year of previous research experience
- Experience with qualitative studies would be an asset,
as would experience with qualitative data analysis software (e.g., NVivo)
Special Skills/Aptitudes Required
- Function independently yet collaboratively within a team
- Effective communication, interpersonal, facilitation, and organizational skills
- Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, Internet, and MEDLINE searches)
- Experience with biomedical writing
- A commitment to understanding and aiding in the pursuit of equity, diversity, and inclusion objectives
Type of Employment: Part-time (0.5 FTE) 1-year contract
