Purpose of Position:

This individual is responsible for participating in each step of the donor pipeline including: identification; qualification through research; cultivation; request for support; and prompt follow up, stewardship, and recognition with a focus gifts of $5,000+ and multi-year commitments.

Key Responsibilities:

Planning (5%)

- Create individual goals for each donor on pipeline based on the donor's history of giving and the organization's knowledge of that donor's potential

- Supports development of annual plans and budgets to support strategic vision for the department





- Reports on plan results, helps develop alternate plans to address business conditions or requirements

Donor Acquisition/Donor Management (75%)

- Oversees a portfolio of assigned donors and prospects.

- Works with individual donors to match donor interests to organizational priorities and needs

- Work with the stewardship team to develop customized proposals.

- Develops individual donor strategies, along with materials, to renew and upgrade donor gifts.

- Wherever possible work with eligible donors to secure planned gifts.

- Utilizes Raiser’s Edge to execute “moves management” strategy, track daily activities and report on specific metrics

Donor Stewardship (20%)





- Ensures that donors and prospects are stewarded in accordance with organizational recognition program and/or the program identified in the proposal/agreement

- Ensures timely reports to donors

- Participates in recognition and engagement plans/events for donors

- Makes thank you calls to individuals as assigned

Qualifications:

- 3+ years major gift fundraising or related experience with a proven track record of closing major gifts

- Demonstrated success in securing multi-year financial gifts from new partners and in upgrading and renewing existing donor commitments

- Demonstrated success in achieving fundraising targets and deadlines within established budgets

- Demonstrated knowledge of community-based fundraising and its trends

- Knowledge of the foundation environment in Ontario and Canada

- University or College degree or equivalent work experience

- Experience with the Raiser’s Edge or similar CRM data base an asset





- Proficient in Microsoft Office
