Touchstone Institute is a non-profit corporation governed by a board of directors and receives financial support from the Government of Ontario. Touchstone Institute works closely with physicians, nurses and other healthcare providers who provide subject matter expertise to assess and improve the level of competency across individual practice. Building on its history to facilitate entry to training or practice for Internationally Educated Health Professionals, Touchstone Institute seeks to continue the work in this area while expanding to support excellence in competent practice for all who deliver health care.
About Practice Ready Ontario (PRO)
Funded by the Government of Ontario,
Touchstone Institute works closely with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario, Ontario Health, the Medical Council of Canada, and others while administering the PRO program. PRO is a workplace assessment program that aims to add internationally trained family physicians or general practitioners who have completed post-graduate training and have an established track record of work in another country to practice in rural communities in Ontario.
Position Description
The Stakeholder Engagement Lead is responsible for establishing and managing good program governance both internally and externally, ensuring appropriate engagement with partners and key system players. This role focuses on fostering strong relationships and managing high impact partnerships to support the successful implementation of Touchstone program, with initial priority focus on the Practice Ready Ontario (PRO) program.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program Management: Develop and implement program governance frameworks and practices to ensure transparency, accountability,
and effective decision-making within the PRO program.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Refresh an engagement strategy for the PRO program and maintain strong relationships with partners, key system players, and stakeholders to facilitate collaboration and alignment with the PRO program's objectives. Ensure alignment of the PRO engagement strategy against Touchstone’s broader engagement objectives.
- Partnership Management: Identify, assess, and manage high impact partnerships, ensuring they align with strategic goals and deliver value to the PRO program.
- Communication: Support the development and execution of the PRO program communication strategies together with the program team and Communications Lead,
aimed at effectively engaging and informing stakeholders and ensuring their needs and concerns are addressed in a timely manner.
- Issues Management: Assess and contribute to the ongoing management of key matters related to the ongoing, steady delivery of the program in conjunction with program leads and the Senior Director.
- Monitoring and Reporting: Continuously monitor the effectiveness of governance practices and stakeholder engagement activities, and report on progress and outcomes to senior leadership.
- Best Practices: Stay updated on industry best practices and trends in stakeholder engagement and program governance and incorporate these insights into the PRO program's strategies.
- External Meeting Management: Coordinate and manage meetings with external partners and advisory groups, ensuring effective communication and collaboration. Prepare agendas,
develop materials for pre-circulation, facilitate discussions, and document outcomes to drive strategic initiatives forward.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Relations, Communications, or a related field.
- Previous experience in stakeholder engagement, governance, or partnership management at a managerial level.
- Ability to think strategically and align stakeholder engagement activities with the PRO program's goals.
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and persuasively.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess and manage risks effectively.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with the healthcare sector and the specific challenges and opportunities in integrating internationally trained physicians.
- Professional certification in stakeholder engagement or governance (e.g., IAP2, PMI-PBA).
- Ability to communicate fluently in both English and French is an asset.
We follow a hybrid work model with two designated in-office days: Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Successful candidates must be available to work on-site during these days.
