Side by Side ABA Therapy

Job Type: On-Going Part-time, Independent Contractor Position.
Hours: After school/evening and weekend availability. Limited daytime hours.
Side by Side Therapy is currently looking for skilled individuals to fill contract Communicative Disorders Assistant (CDA) positions in Toronto and the GTA. CDAs will work one-on-one with children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (or other developmental disabilities) implementing client specific goals under the supervision of a Speech Language Pathologist.
Responsibilities Include:
- Carrying a caseload of children under the supervision of Speech Language Pathologist
- Providing direct therapeutic interventions to clients with communication disorders
- Conducting assessment
- Home and community visits
- Collaborating with colleagues, family members, and other professionals to implement treatments goals and monitor progress
- Supporting children with diverse needs
- Preparation work - including parent education material and therapy materials
- 1:1 in-person services
- Maintaining accurate and organized client records, progress notes, and documentation in-line with CASLPO standards
- Keeping up-to-date with best practices and evidence-based interventions in the field of communicative disorders.
Successful Candidates Must Possess:
- Completion of a post-grad certificate from a CDA program
- Certification as a Communicative Disorders Assistant (CDA) or equivalent.
- Professional liability insurance
- A recent Vulnerable Sector Screen
- Proficient in providing speech language interventions to preschool and school-aged children
- A minimum of 6 months experience working as a CDA
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team
- Demonstrated good attendance record with the ability to maintain this same standard
- Previous experience with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder or other neurodiversities
- Excellent time-management, organization skills, problem-solving skills, communication skills, and interpersonal skills
- Access to a reliable vehicle and/or form of transportation
- Compassion, patience, and a genuine desire to help individuals with communication disorders.
