Talent Acquisition Specialist

Mohawk Medbuy Corporation (MMC) is a national, not-for-profit, shared services organization that supports hundreds of health care providers across Canada, as well as child welfare agencies and other public sector organizations. MMC provides value-driven contracting and procurement solutions for medical/surgical supplies, pharmaceutical products, local sourcing, capital (equipment, FF&E; and redevelopment) and nutrition solutions. Other services include data analytics, in-hospital support, warehousing/logistics, technology, procure-to-pay, and accounts payable.

Based in Burlington, ON, MMC operates regional office hubs in Toronto, Thunder Bay, Kingston, Brantford, London and Chatham as well as a distribution centre in Oakville.
We are currently recruiting for a full-time Talent Acquisition Specialist to support our Human Resources Team. This is a hybrid role with 3 days in the office at any MMC office location and 2 days working remotely.
Position Overview
As a Talent Acquisition Specialist at MMC, you’ll play a critical role in helping our teams scale by identifying, attracting, and hiring exceptional talent for key positions at all levels across the MMC offices. You will join the HR Team and work closely with the HR Business Partners to drive alignment between Talent Acquisition and HR Business Partners which allows us to be deeply embedded in the teams that we support.
You will participate in the entire recruiting process end to end,
working closely with the hiring managers to understand business requirements and matching individuals to those needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Liaise with HR Business Partners/hiring managers across all functional departments of the MMC offices to ascertain ongoing talent needs
- Continuously research, network and prospect available talent for key positions
- Develop recruitment plans for each position e.g. how and where to source top talent, development of interview questions, determination of interview panels, etc.
- Lead end-to-end hiring activities:
- Draft, post, and maintain all job openings across internal and external sources
- Drive effective intake meetings with key stakeholders to aid in the creation of effective sourcing strategies
- Manage the recruitment pipeline, screen resumes for all internal/external job applicants,
schedule and conduct preliminary phone screens and present candidates
- Schedule in-person interviews and participate in the process where appropriate
- Extend job offers and support offer negotiations
- Provide input and recommendations to HR/hiring managers with respect to recruitment processes and applicants. Work closely with HR and hiring managers to understand business acumen, our culture, the requirements for our roles, and their impact on the organization
- Perform reference and background checks
- Source, develop and recommend new recruitment avenues when necessary (e.g. career fairs, agencies, etc.)
- Act as liaison with employment agencies, universities & colleges, and industry associations, including third-party recruitment agencies for relevant searches as needed
- Remain current on company organization structure,
HR policy, and relevant provincial laws regarding employment practices
- Partner with internal stakeholders including HR Business Partners and Compensation Manager
- Complete timely reports and metrics on recruitment related activities
Qualifications and Skills
- 3+ years of recruitment experience – having corporate and agency experience is required
- Post-secondary education in Business/Human Resources and/or related field.
- Expert user of external recruitment resources including LinkedIn Recruiter, Monster, Indeed, and more
- Experience working on a high volume of requisitions, juggling multiple roles simultaneously
- Excellent communication skills; you are a storyteller and can captivate your audience to convey an opportunity
- Adaptable, resilient and can deal with ever-changing requirements
- Top-notch networking,
and relationship building skills, on and offline
- Ability to build relationships at every level of an organization
- Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment, meeting tight deadlines
Travel
- Ability to travel to Mohawk Medbuy offices, if required.
