CAMH is the largest mental health and addiction teaching hospital as well as one of the world's leading research centres in its field. Our services are delivered to help transform the lives of people affected by mental illness and addictions. Our goal is to tailor treatment to each individual, providing patient-centered, comprehensive, coordinated care.

Reporting to the Senior Clinical Director, Adult Inpatient and Psychosis Recovery and Treatment OutPatient Services, we are seeking a full-time, temporary (15 months) Manager of our Crisis Critical Care Treatment Unit 5. The Manager is responsible for providing leadership in a dynamic environment. Leading a dynamic inter-professional team that includes Registered Nurses, Social Workers, Occupational Therapist, Psychiatric Assistants, Psychiatrists, Psychiatric Residents, and others, the Manager will ensure safe operations and the promotion of best practices in acute mental health and addictions care for emerging adults. The Manager will work closely with CAMH Slaight Centre, as well as Leadership on program planning and continuous quality improvement initiatives.



The Manager will represent the program both within CAMH and with external stakeholders.

Operational activities include scheduling staff; including recruitment and performance management; as well as team planning, development, implementation, and evaluation. The Manager will also support the strong academic mandate of the department, which includes a focus on both the educational experience of trainees, and the ongoing professional development of staff. In collaboration with the Professional Practice Leaders, you will be responsible for the identification and development of educational requirements for staff, providing administrative supervision to members of the clinical team, and for the implementation of evidence based practices, programming and research activities You will be required to support budget planning and monitoring, facilitate the implementation of the CAMH Strategic Plan,



and participate in planning and project work. You will support a workplace that embraces diversity, encourages teamwork and complies with all applicable regulatory and legislative requirements.

The successful candidate will have a Master’s Degree in a health related discipline. Registration in good standing with a professional college (e.g., Occupational Therapy, Social Work, Registered Nurse) is required. In addition, 5 years’ experience in mental health and addiction treatment is required. You will have had previous leadership experience and possess knowledge of mental health and addiction acute care, have sound understanding of inpatient care, and working with patients with first episode psychosis. As well,



you will possess a track record of the provision of client and family centred care; managing an interdisciplinary team; development of linkages/partnerships; strong interpersonal and written communication skills; negotiation; leadership and the ability to work effectively within a dynamic team environment. Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds and communities is essential. You have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Work, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint). Bilingualism (French/English) or proficiency in a second language would be an asset.

Please Note: This full-time, temporary position is NOT part of any bargaining unit.
