WHAT YOU’LL DO
As the national Director of Operations and Finance,
you would be responsible for the day-to-day operations of UWW/EXP and support the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) on the organization’s national scaling strategy, cultural and organizational development. Working with Finance, administration and program teams, you would manage UWW/EXP’s finance and administration, emerging programs, and human resources. This ever-evolving role requires a high degree of collaboration with internal partners to ensure an efficient and effective service delivery for clients and customers while ensuring best practices in diversity, equity and inclusion.
You will be accountable for meeting operational delivery targets, while supporting the growth of our program opportunities and stakeholder relations to align with the strategic plan.
As part of our diverse team,
your role may include accountabilities that fall under the following categories:
Finance and Administration
Oversee and support financial planning, reporting, and audit.
Manage operations in new service areas across Canada.
Conduct organizational audits
Negotiate organization-level partnerships and contractual arrangements.
Promote cost-efficient program delivery with compliance to approved policies and procedures.
Identify best practices and improve internal systems with a focus on future needs and budget realities.
Emerging Program
In collaboration with the National Director of Programs and Impact:
Lead, coach, and mentor UWW/EXP’s program team for effective emerging program delivery
Support and coach the Community Outreach and Program Managers to deliver on their targets.
Assure program quality and excellence through rigorous performance measurement and evaluation
Ensure client needs are met with high level of satisfaction
Ensure insights from the performance measurement system are used to enhance programming.
Monitor program performance according to funder and internal targets.
Complete and submit reports (e.g. internal quarterly reports and annual funder reports)
In collaboration with the CEO:
Ensure all projects are in contract compliance.
Develop an annual plan, including goals and objectives for UWW/EXP, for Board approval.
Develop strategic policies and processes to guide the organization in achieving its vision
Human Resources
Ensure effective forecasting of required Human Resources to deliver on UWW/EXP’s strategic plan
Support recruitment and contract negotiations for new employees.
Develop on-boarding and orientation processes for new staff.
Ensure UWW/EXP has effective HR systems, including job descriptions and letters of employments for all roles.
Lead performance measurement and management processes across the organization.
Ensure that policies are up to date, understood and administered by everyone at UWW/EXP.
Other
Provide guidance and input to large proposals as appropriate.
Support the CEO with donor relations and stewardship.
Support the CEO with internal and external communication.
Represent UWW/EXP at relevant conferences, network groups, and other venues.
Serve as a mentor and coach for staff.
Cultivate the values and guiding principles of UWW/EXP throughout the organization.
Your duties may be changed by written agreement of all parties due to demonstrated operational needs and resource capacities.
WHAT YOU CAN OFFER
Required
Minimum 5-10 years experience working in a senior position within an organization with proven, progressive experience and demonstrated effectiveness leading projects and operations at the senior level in complex, multi-stakeholder organizations.
Proven ability to lead and influence organizational growth exercising stewardship and leadership in charitable and not-for-profit organizations.
Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships and interface effectively with all levels of the organization.
Strategic planning skills and experience, with a demonstrated ability to track progress and keep record across multiple important priorities.
Equity, diversity and inclusion skills and experience, with a demonstrated ability to implement and support sustainability initiatives.
Strong operational, analytical, communication,
interpersonal and presentation competencies.
High computer literacy skills.
Trauma informed.
